Print Sizes / Aspect Ratios

PRINT SIZES

I try to offer a wide range of the most common sizes for my prints. If you want a specific size print and you don’t see it listed please feel free to reach out. I am more than happy to create a custom size print for your needs. However, print quality is very important to me and certain paintings can’t be printed at certain sizes.

For originals painted on PAPER I am able to offer fairly large prints. For prints in a horizontal/landscape orientation I can print up to 44” in height with the accompanied length. For prints in a vertical/portrait orientation I can offer 44” in width to the accompanied height.

For prints created from original paintings painted on CANVAS I am unable to print larger than what the original canvas size initially was, as this will degrade the quality of the print because of the texture of the canvas and how that effects the print making process.  If you would like a custom size print created from an original work on canvas it must be the same size or smaller than the original. In each print listing I make sure to provide the original painting information for each painting to help guide you

ASPECT RATIOS

Please keep in mind that depending on the size print you choose part of the painting could be cropped and vary slightly from the original.  If you would like to avoid cropping please refer to the aspect ratio listed with the original painting information in each listing and choose a print size within that size ratio family. If you choose to go with a different size ratio sometimes cropping will still be pretty minimal but it really is on a case by case basis. Below is a chart that might be useful to help give you an idea of sizing and ratio family’s. If you are unsure please feel free to contact me. I can provide a mock-up of what a certain painting will look like in a certain size, so you can see how the cropping might look with that specific painting you are wanting to purchase.

CROPPING

Below are some example of cropping you can expect to see with different size ratio families. All measurements are provided in inches. You can refer to the charts above for measurements in centimeters. For reference, the original painting information for the painting below was painted in a 7:5 aspect ratio. Any cropping shown is done from that size.
